Albert "Ronnie" Morris, age 76, of Iberia, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Lake Regional Health Department in Osage Beach. He was born in Quincy, Illinois, on May 21, 1937, son of the late Albert and Mabel (Keith) Morris. On June 9, 1984, in Dawson, Minnesota, Ronnie married Coni Sue Sumner, who survives at the home.

Sergeant Major (retired) Ronnie Morris is a Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Army from 1957 until his retirement on October 31, 1983. During his military career he received several awards including the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Accomodation Medal (three times) and the Good Conduct Medal (eight times). He was a member of the American Legion Post 105 and Iberia VFW Post 6167.

He is also survived by three stepdaughters, Staci Fritchey of Brumley, Dena Smith and husband Doug of Rolla, and Melissa Whittle and husband Shawn of Iberia; five grandchildren, Andy Vinson, Taylor Vinson, Allie Veasman, Erin Whittle, and Carson Whittle; friend, Michele Luttrell of Brumley; two sisters, Clara Shultz of Edina and Wanda Powers of Ewing; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 12 (noon) until 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Monday, September 9, 2013, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Julie Weems will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia.
