Obituary

Alice Bell Meinhold, age 84, of St. Charles, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025. She was born in Tuscumbia, on March 24, 1941, daughter of the late Harry and Flossie (Birdsong) Clark. On September 12, 1959, Alice (Clark) was married to William Meinhold.

Alice is survived by her son, Stephen (Jennifer Horan) Meinhold of Wilmington, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Julianna Meinhold; grandchildren, Susan Meinhold, Wesley (Morgan) Meinhold, Madeleine Meinhold, Katherine Meinhold, and Eleanor Meinhold; brother, Tim Clark; nephew Phillip (Joan) Clark; nieces Beth (Adam) Bax and Lauren (Tyler) Wieberg; grandnephews, Stuart, Joseph, Owen, Beckett, and Boston, and grandniece, Emersyn.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, William, son Paul, sister and brother-in-law, Mary Beth (Don) Clark, and her sister-in-law, Mary Clark.

Alice was a loving and dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She kept the family organized and connected and is remembered for hosting family gatherings, bringing magic to every holiday with her laughter, and taking the grandchildren on innumerable summer camping trips. Alice spent her career in early-childhood education teaching thousands of young people. She loved music and needlework, volunteered with Woodmen Life Insurance and was a camping partner to her husband.

A graveside Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Capps Cemetery, near Tuscumbia.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in St. Elizabeth.
