Obituary

Alice Elizabeth Stroyick, age 90, of St. Anthony, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at Lakeside Meadows in Osage Beach. She was born in St. Elizabeth on October 4, 1929, daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Jurgensmeyer) Volmert. On August 6, 1952, in Miami, OK, Alice married William Ray Stroyick, who preceded her in death.

Alice worked at the Iberia Senior Center for 19 years and served as a cook at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. She was a member of the Iberia Community Club and St. Anthony Senior Citizens. Her favorite pastimes included quilting, canning, cooking, making Elderberry jelly, and spending time with her family. Alice was a woman of faith and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony.

She is survived by four children, LaVerne Belk (Raymond) of Eldon, Dale Stroyick (Patty) of Richmond, TX, Donna Kaye Moss (John) of Jefferson City, and Rebecca "Becca" Wilson (Tom Arnold) of Jefferson City; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn Otto (Elias); two brothers, Flavian Volmert (Jean) and Raymond Volmert (Shirley); and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Stroyick; sister, Lorraine Kliethermes and husband Leo; granddaughter, Joyce Holtmeyer; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Edison; and step-granddaughter, Sheila McKeller.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony with Fr. Joby Thomas officiating. Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 5 p.m., on Thursday, August 6, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested for Masses.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
