Alma Lorene (Copeland) Hill, age 92, of Iberia, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia.  She was born in Dixon on June 9, 1930, daughter of the late Orville and Edith (Lawson) Copeland.

Alma was an Iberia resident for the majority of her life, except for 17 years during which time she traveled with her husband, who was in the Air Force.  She was an active member of her community.  She was employed as the Iberia City Clerk for many years and later worked as a dispatcher and collector.  After retirement, Alma volunteered her time working at the Iberia Friendship Hall.

Alma was the matriarch of her family, who she cherished and always welcomed their company.  She was a model of grace and kindness who had an infectious smile that would light up any room.  Alma loved to travel with her family during her retirement.  Alma was a faithful member of the Iberia First Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Pemberton and husband Darrell of Iberia and Kathy Neuman and husband Pat of Dixon; daughter-in-law, Debbie Hill of Iberia; four grandchildren, Aaron (Reyna) Hill, Danielle (Jeremy) Seel, Darren (Alex) Pemberton, and Trevor Plemmons; great-grandchildren, Anthony Plemmons, Jordan (Justin) Rogers, Natalie Plemmons, Logan Seel, Kinley Seel, and Alma Victoria Hill; two great-great-grandchildren, Tatum Rogers and Cohen Rogers; three sisters, Betty (Berry) Blankenship, JoAnn Gallagher, and Linda Prather; her nursing home family and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, John Hill Jr.; two brothers, Burl Copeland and Donley Copeland; and two sisters, Mona Jones and Lemoine Lawson.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 (noon) on Thursday, March 9, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Roy Bryant officiating.  Interment will be held at Wheeler Cemetery near Dixon.
