Andrew "Robert" Dake, age 72, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Miller County on January 8, 1938, son of the late Joseph and Mary Jane (Duncan) Dake.

Andrew had many hobbies including wood working, whistling, watching wildlife, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He attended Iberia public school. He served in the Air Force and was a lifetime member of the Oliver-Burhle Chapter 17 of the Disabled American Veterans and attended the Fairgrounds Road Church of Christ in Jefferson City.

He is survived by his wife, Jenny Dake of Jefferson City; five children, Kathleen Dake of Holts Summit, Robert Dake of Sedalia, Stephanie (Dake) Thompson of Jefferson City, Wade Dake of Waverly, Georgia, and Robin (Dake) McDowell of Iberia; four brothers, Myrel Dake of Iberia, Floyd Dake of Climax Springs, Darrell Dake of Stover, and Ritchie Dake of Hickory Hill; five sisters, Bonnie Pendleton of Iberia, Pauline Humphrey of Iberia, Barb McDaniel of Holts Summit, Beverly Pendleton of Iberia, and Becky Stoll of Eldon; two stepsons, Barry Malone and Kelly Malone both of Jefferson City; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Sue Dake, Rosa Rowden and Donna Dake.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 (noon), on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Monte Roark will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Oliver-Burhle Chapter 17 of the Disabled American Veterans or to the Harry S. Truman Memorial Hospital.
