Andrew J. "Johnny" Schupp, age 81, of Eldon, died Saturday, January 3, 2009, at his home. He was born in Eldon on August 16, 1927, a son of the late William and Besse Jane (Pendelton) Schupp. On July 10, 1948, in Aurora Springs, he was married to Opal Bond, who survives at the home.
Johnny was a US Navy veteran of World War II. He managed the Imperial Station in Eldon for 34 years and was a member of Ninth Street Christian Church in Eldon. He enjoyed working with stained glass, fishing, water sports and spending time with his family.
Others who survive him include: three children, Clifford Schupp and wife Kathy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Michael Schupp and wife Barb of Kansas City, Kansas and Jerry Schupp and wife Cynthia of Russellville; eleven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
One brother, Clarence Schupp and one sister, Pauline Admire, also preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, at Ninth Street Christian Church in Eldon. Rev. Chris Reynolds will officiate. Interment with military honors provided by the Miller County VFW Post 2442 will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon.
