Anna Belle Beard, age 71, of Brumley, died Sunday, February 3, 2008, at Lake Regional Hospital. She was born in Ava on October 3, 1936, a daughter of the late Harrison and Jessie May (Points) Hunsaker. On January 22, 1955, in Bettendorf, Iowa, she was married to Byron Logan Beard, Sr., who preceded her in death on March 12, 1990.

Anna owned and operated Annie's Cozy Kitchen and was a former mayor of Tuscumbia. She was a member of the Ulman Baptist Church and was a great mother.

Those who survive her include: two sons, Byron Beard, Jr. of Brumley and Brian Beard of Camdenton; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers, George, Frank and Doug Hunsaker and one sister, Geraldine Hunsaker.

An infant daughter, Karen Kay Beard, one son, Brent Beard, and eight brothers and sisters, also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, with services immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Mark Kesler will officiate. Interment will be in Boltz Cemetery near Brumley.
