Obituary

Anna Mae Henson, age 81, of Iberia, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. She was born in Carthage, New York, on May 13, 1944, daughter of the late William and Vivian Irene (Allen) Fredenburg. In June of 1992, Anna was united in marriage to Brook Lynn Henson, who survives at their home.

Anna was known for her exceptional work ethic and dedication throughout her career. Following high school, Anna graduated from beautician school. Although Anna did not pursue this profession, she enjoyed styling hair for her family and friends on special occasions, always taking pride in making others look and feel their best. She began her career as a traffic control supervisor in Washington and Vegas. She was later employed as TLC's business manager, where her leadership and commitment were evident every day.

Her genuine interest in others made the store a welcoming place for all who entered. Anna’s relationships with her customers often grew into lasting friendships that she cherished dearly. In addition to her managerial role, she also served as the vice president of the corporation. Anna enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She had a strong passion for cooking and hosting gatherings, frequently uniting family and friends at reunions and holidays.

She is survived by her husband, Brook Henson, her children, Roderick (Meg) Conklin, Frederick (Jenny) Conklin, and Tom (Barry) Conklin, Kelly Henson, Shawn Henson, Lisa Henson, and Chance Henson; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Crowley and JoAnne Dusharm; brother, Bill Fredenburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Milan Fred Conklin; daughter, Michele Bennett; and brother, Butch Fredenburg.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., with the funeral service immediately following at 4 p.m., on Sunday, December 7, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Iberia Cemetery.
