Obituary

Arthur Logan Means, age 89, of Meta, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Illinois on February 14, 1925, son of the late Jerry and Lucy Means. On April 24, 1948, in Vienna, Arthur married Wanda Maxine Wilson, who preceded him on July 23, 2010.

Arthur served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the NRA and was the caretaker of Stokes Cemetery for many years. Arthur attended Faith Tabernacle Church near Iberia.

He is survived by one son, Randy Means and wife Dolores of Jefferson City; one daughter, Betty Means of Meta; five grandchildren, Stacy Sinor of Jefferson City, Woody Sinor of Freeburg, Maxine Wagner of Meta, Stephanie Woodruff of Mokane, and Jodi Nichols of Jefferson City; twelve great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three children, J.L. Means, Connie Means, and Sandra Sinor; and two sisters, Laudra Helton and Barb Baker.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Sunday, June 15, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. Rev. Duncan Skiles will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Stokes Cemetery near Meta.
