Arzena (Stark) Nixdorf, age 102, of Ulman, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Tuscumbia on March 11, 1917, daughter of the late Bill and Mattie (Dixon) Stark. On August 29, 1949, in Cole Camp, Arzena married Herbert James Nixdorf, who preceded her in death on December 4, 2002.

Arzena was the oldest of twelve children and at a tender age of four she helped with the raising and caring for her younger siblings. Her favorite pastime was sewing, and she loved spending time with her family and friends. Arzena was a faithful member of the Ulman Christian Church and later attended Mt. Zion Christian Church.

She is survived by three children, Betty Drace, Dennis Nixdorf, and Sue Nixdorf all of Ulman; eight grandchildren, Chuck Drace (Kristie), Jason Drace (Laura), Crystal Bateman (Randy), Lucretia Drace, Tiffany Jones (Kenny), Les Nixdorf (Lacie), Davey Drace, and P.J. Nixdorf; 16 great-grandchildren, Jared, Rachel, Hayden, Nick, Caleb, Traygen, Aaron, Emma, Trytten, Lillie, Alton, Lane, Alex, Brianna, Logan, and Holden; great-great-granddaughter, Violet; sister, Birdie Krupco; brother, Elijah Stark; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons, James Anthony Nixdorf and Perry Ray Nixdorf, and son-in-law, Dave Drace.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 (noon), with services immediately following at 12 (noon), on Saturday, February 1, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Charles Worstell officiating. Interment will be held in Gott Cemetery in Ulman.
