Ava Lee (Richie) Miller, age 94, of Osage Beach, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at Lake Regional Hospital. She was born in Monette, Arkansas on March 26, 1912, a daughter of the late Jim and Easter (McFarland) Richie. On December 24, 1928, in Lake City, Arkansas, she was married to William Gray Miller, who preceded her in death in 1976.

Ava was a homemaker and enjoyed needlework, sewing, crocheting and gardening.

Those who survive her include: four children, Betty J. Cox of Palmdale, California, Bonnie Carpenter of Marietta, Georgia; William "Bill" Miller and wife Sarah of Eldon and Joy Kegle and husband Randy of Yuma, Arizona; eleven grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.

Four children, Loretta Pierce, Billy Lavon, Peggy Janice and Richard Thomas; three grandchildren, Donald Smith, Michael Carpenter and Danny Cox; one brother, Eugene Richie and two sisters, Lila and Mattie Jane Richie, also preceded her in death.

Visitation will be from 1:30-3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, with services immediately following at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. Rev. Tom Abbott will officiate. Interment will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
