Barbara Dean Burnett, age 88, of Iberia, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Iberia on February 24, 1928, daughter of the late James Preston and Edith (Shelton) Wilson. On June 21, 1947, in Iberia, Barbara married Herbert Dale Burnett, who preceded her in death on January 30, 2013.

Barbara graduated from Iberia High School in 1946. From 1952 to 1954, she worked in the Dental Corp. at Ft. Leonard Wood. She was a member of Ladies Shriners, Holly Guild, and the Iberia First Christian Church.

Barbara met the love of her life, Herbert Burnett, at the young age of 16 and they were married three short years later. Together they spent 65 loving years together and were blessed with two daughters.

She is survived by two daughters, Beverly McDaniel and Greg Addington of Montreal and Lori Burnett and Tom Humphrey of Iberia; four grandchildren, Travis McDaniel of Iberia, Wes Humphrey and Keri of Iberia, Danielle Doyle and Zach of Lawrence, KS, and Nick McDaniel and Kayla of Iberia; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Ina Wilson of Iberia; two sisters-in-law, Ramona Burnett of Granite City, Illinois and Janet Wilson of Florissant; her dear friends, Benny Luttrell and wife Jackie of Iberia; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, June Wilson and one brother, James Max Wilson.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Interment will be in Livingston Cemetery near Iberia.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Livingston Cemetery, Miller County Nursing Home, or Iberia Lions Club.
