(Hensley) Rollins

Barbara Lee (Hensley) Rollins, age 92, of Crocker, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at her home. She was born in Iberia on July 21, 1929, daughter of the late Arkley Owen and Belle (Clark) Hensley. On September 29, 1952, in Arkansas, Barbara was united in marriage to Alvin Myrl Rollins, who survives at their home.
Barbara took pleasure in spending time outdoors watching hummingbirds and enjoying the peace and tranquility of her family home. Barbara and her husband, Myrl, enjoyed traveling and enjoying the simple things in life. She cherished the love of her close-knit family and their years of precious memories. She had a rewarding career as a homemaker and later worked in the dietary department at Iberia R-V School for 10 years.
Barbara was saved and baptized at a young age and was an active and faithful member of New Hope Gospel Church. Her love and devotion to the Lord is a value she passed down to her children and the many generations to come.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. Barbara was a loving wife of nearly 70 years and a devoted mother, grandmother, and loyal friend to many.
In addition to her husband, Myrl Rollins, she is also survived by three daughters, Donnette Routh and husband John Wayne of Crocker, JoAnn Shelton and husband Junior of Hawkeye, and Merlene Helton and husband David of Iberia; six grandchildren, Michelle "Shelly" (Chuck) Adams, Lori (Randy) Roam, Jennifer (Rusty) Dusenberry, Mandy (Johnny) Duncan, Brandon (Candy) Shelton, and Alisha (Chris) Hall; 25 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Emogene Hensley; lifelong friend, Bobby Pemberton; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Hensley and Velmor Hensley; two sisters, Ruby Piggott and Jennette Whittle; one grandson, John Landon Routh; and one great-granddaughter, Lacey Wilson.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 2, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Frank McGuire officiating. Interment will be held in Iberia Cemetery.
