Bernadine Ann Otto, age 94, of St. Thomas, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Villa Marie in Jefferson City.  She was born in Meta on June 30, 1927, daughter of the late Theodore and Wilhelmina "Minnie" (Butel) Werdehausen.  On July 16, 1946, Bernadine was united in marriage to Lawrence Stephen Otto, who preceded her in death on December 31, 2002.

Bernadine had an endearing personality, a humble heart, and an unconditional love for her family. She enjoyed baking, dancing, and gardening.  She was a talented quilter and was a member of the Meta Quilting Club.  Bernadine was a faithful member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta and was a member of St. Ann's Sodality.

She is survived by six children, Kenneth Otto (Leona) of St. Thomas, Donald Otto of Westphalia, Eugene Otto, Marilyn Bax (Gayle), Dennis Otto, and Glenn Otto all of St. Thomas; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; brother, James Werdehausen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred Otto (Mary Ann), Charlie Otto (Bea) Marilyn Otto, and Christine Otto; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Scott Otto, daughter-in-law, Donna Otto, and brother, Charles Werdehausen.

Visitation will be held from 8 to 10 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 10 a.m., on Friday, April 1, 2022, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta with Fr. Leonard Mukiibi officiating.  Interment will be held in St. Cecilia Cemetery near Meta.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph School in Westphalia.
