Bert Truman Richardson, age 77, of Eldon, died Sunday, November 9, 2008, at St. Marys Health Center. He was born in Tuscumbia on June 14, 1931, a son of the late Homer Floyd and Brooksie (Workman) Richardson. On July 9, 1950, in Aurora Springs, he was married to Zelma "Faye" Brown, who survives at the home.
Bert was a member of the Aurora Springs Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting, walking and watching his grandkids play sports. Bert played basketball for Tuscumbia High School.
Others who survive him include: three children, Brenda Sue Engelbrecht and husband Marvin of Treasure Island, Florida, Debra Kay Setser and husband John of Springfield and Dennis Wayne Richardson and wife Jeanne of Jefferson City; six grandchildren, Melissa Snellen and husband Brian, Kori York, Justin Setser, Spencer Douglas Richardson, Cassidy Joy Richardson and Skylar Truman Richardson; three sisters, Ann Coffman, Corraine Aton and Hazel Browne; three brothers, Wayne, Glen and Marvin Richardson and his beloved dog, Toby.
Two sisters, Velma Clines and Delpha Keeth, also preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. with services immediately following at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, at Aurora Springs Baptist Church near Eldon. Pastor John Dearing will officiate. Interment will be in Eldon City Cemetery.
