Bertie Jane Witt, age 92, of Montreal, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Richland Care Center. She was born in Brumley on June 14, 1934, daughter of the late Earnest and Ina (Moss) Rodden. On October 12, 1950, Bertie was united in marriage to Clay Witt, who preceded her in death on October 17, 2009.

Bertie was a faithful member of Rodden Church of Christ and retired from Modine Manufacturing in Jefferson City. Above all, she treasured her family. Her kind and caring heart touched those around her, and the love she shared will live on through the countless cherished memories she leaves behind.

She is survived by two sons, Daryl (Judy) Witt and Ron (Karen) Witt both of Montreal; daughter-in-law, Rita Witt of Brumley; five grandchildren, Jason Witt, Lora Shreve, Jessica Chancellor, Mary Labrot, and Stephanie Witt; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gertie Witt, Marjorie Stark, and Frances Swofford; two brothers, Bud Rodden and William Rodden; and a host of family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Earnest and Ina Rodden and husband, Clay Witt, she was also preceded in death by her son, John Witt; sister, Lois Luttrell and husband Billy; sister-in-law, Joyce Rodden; and brother-in-law, Dorlis Witt.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Doug Burton and George Bunger officiating. Interment will be held in Rodden Cemetery in Brumley.
