Mueller Hoecker
July 15, 1936 – July 4, 2025
Betty Jean (Carrender) Mueller Hoecker, age 88, of St. Thomas, passed away surrounded by the love of her family, on Friday, July 4, 2025, at her home. She was born in Henley on July 15, 1936, daughter of the late William and Bertha (Golden) Carrender. On August 3, 1957, in Schubert, Betty was united in marriage to Walter Mueller, who preceded her in death on March 26, 1973. On September 21, 1974, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Betty was united in marriage to Leander "Pete" Joseph Hoecker, who preceded her in death on August 24, 2000.
Betty was always on the go and had unconditional love for her family. Her kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had a love for nature and found great joy in camping and fishing. Betty was a devoted member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
She is survived by four sons, Wilford (Christie) Mueller, Ronnie (Holly) Mueller, Donnie (Christy) Mueller, and Joseph (Joni) Hoecker; four daughters, Tammy (Sam) Kempker, Pam (Gary) Schulte, Cathy (John) Mueller, and Jennifer (Darrell) Borgmeyer; 28 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren with two on the way; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Ileen Rush; two sisters-in-law, Eldora Hoecker and Elda Bruning; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Amber and Amanda Mueller; one great-grandson, Connor Groose; and two siblings, Shirley Norment, and Billy Joe Carrender; and half-brother, Bill Smith
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Leonard Mukiibi officiating. Interment will be held in St. Thomas Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Organization or the Alzheimer's Association.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.
