Betty Marie (Zeigenbein) Cochran, age 83, of Iberia, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach.  She was born on June 7, 1941, daughter of the late Ed and Dora (Carver) Zeigenbein.  On June 24, 1961, Betty was united in marriage to James "Buster" Orville Cochran, who preceded her in death on July 6, 2002.

Betty's love for Elvis Presley was well-known among family and friends.  She enjoyed sewing and spending time browsing on Facebook.  She had a passion for playing cards and was adamant that she "never cheated", however her family may dispute her claim!

Betty was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.  She took immense pride in their accomplishments and joy in their presence.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Renee Black and Starla Kay Schulte and husband Richard; grandchildren, Maria (Harold) Miller, Jami (Shean) Harris, Quentin (Casey) Neuman, Justine Schulte, Brandon (Amber) Schulte, Dana (Brian) Scheppers and Erica (Evan) Brown; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Ethan, Avery, Cora, Ashlyn, Olivia, Gus, Benton, Madison, Macaily, Sydney, and Emma; three brothers, Clarence (Brenda) Zeigenbein, Jim Zeigenbein, Ted Zeigenbein; two sisters, Janie (Chris) Lee and Rosie (Bill) Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buster Cochran; parents, Ed and Dora Zeigenbein; granddaughter, Natasha (Neuman) Ponder; four sisters, Eavlyn Poucher, Georgia Powell, Ruth Walters, and Peggy Wilson; two brothers, Eddie Zeigenbein and John Zeigenbein.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Friday, March 14, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Rick Russell officiating.  Interment will be held in Mt. Union Cemetery in Brumley.
