Bill L. Lowery, age 84, of Iberia formerly of Crocker, passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. He was born in Eldon on May 11, 1928, son of the late Elston and Opal (Tompson) Lowery.
Bill worked for Rock Island Railroad for over 30 years. He worked as a clerk, supervisor, and conductor during his employment with the railroad.
He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict as a Navy Airman until his honorable discharge in 1955.
He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge, a Shriner, and member of the American Legion. Bill was very passionate about airplanes, railroading, automobiles, and American history.
He is survived by several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bill Lowery Memorial Fund.
