Billie Mae Luttrell, age 68, of Brumley, died Thursday, June 7, 2007, at her home. She was born in Brumley on October 31, 1938, daughter of Rawl and Alma Ann (Hedrick) Devore. On September 22, 1956, in Hawkeye, she was married to Donnie Firl Luttrell, who survives at the home.
She was a homemaker and a member of Brumley Christian Church.
Other survivors include two daughters, Robin Whittle and husband, Rick of Brumley, and Rita Howser of Brumley; one brother, Gary Devore of Brumley; two sisters, Colleen O'Dell and Melva Plemmons both of Brumley; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jimmy Dale Devore; and three sisters, Louise Maxine Fry, Ruby Jean Whittle, and Ruth Pauline Duncan.
Upon her sister Ruby's death, Billie and her husband raised her four children, Gary Wayne Whittle, Donny Whittle, Connie Wickham, and Christy Whittle. They survive along with their nine children.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Kessler officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.
