Billy J. Cochran, age 76, of Brumley, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at his home. He was born on February 5, 1930, in Miller County, son of William J. and Velma Eunice (Moneymaker) Cochran. On November 28, 1953, in Hawkeye, he was married to Marie Evelyn Hedrick, who preceded him in death on February 15, 1999.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Cochran of Brumley, Rick Cochran of Brumley, and Dallas Cochran and wife, Pamela of Oak Grove; three brothers, Glen Cochran of Iberia, David Cochran of Brumley, and Danny Cochran of Iberia; two sisters, Eula Mae Cochran of Iberia and Alice Mitchell of Brumley; four grandchildren, Jill, Adam, Autumn, and Austin; and one great-grandchild, Harley.
He was also preceded in death by a son, James Allen Cochran; four brothers, Leroy, Andy, Den, and Glenneth Cochran; and three sisters, Verna Luttrell, Dorothy Phillips, and Juanita Harrison.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Brian Duncan will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
