Billy Douglas Humphrey, age 73, of Iberia, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at his home. He was born in Miller County on September 9, 1942, son of the late Curtis and Lois Eileen (Rowden) Humphrey. On December 3, 1960, in Dixon, Bill married Pauline Joyce Dake, who survives at the home.
Bill was employed with the telephone company for 35 years. He loved horses and mules and was a past member and president of the Iberia Saddle Club. Bill was a member the Iberia Masonic Lodge and attended Mt. Zion Christian Church.
In addition to his loving wife, Pauline, he is also survived by three children, Kim Minnick and husband Troy, Starla Duncan and husband Bubby, and Billy Joe Humphrey and wife Jill all of Iberia; eight grandchildren, Chasidy Burton, Derrick Minnick, Ethan Minnick, Paige Duncan, Faith Duncan, Harley Humphrey, Abby Duncan, and Hannah Humphrey; four great-grandchildren, Ellie Burton, Hadlie Burton, Daxton Vail, and Jayden Minnick; one brother, Earl Wayne Humphrey of Iberia, two sisters, Sharon Dake of Iberia and Deloris Humphrey of Jerome; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Deirdre Humphrey and one brother, Danny "Bull" Humphrey.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., with a memorial service immediately following at 7 p.m., on Friday, May 13, 2016, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Charlie Worstell will officiate. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Brays Cemetery near Iberia.
