Billy "Bill" Joe Deardeuff, age 90, of Iberia passed away at his home surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. He was born in Miller County on June 26, 1931, son of the late Yager and Ethel (Shelton) Deardeuff. On Bill's 23 rd birthday, June 26, 1954, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Delora Lee, they were blessed with 65 years of marriage. Kathleen preceded him in death on Sunday, December 15, 2019.
Bill was 1949 graduate of Iberia R-V. Following graduation, Bill enlisted in the United States Marines on September 26, 1949, and was honorably discharged on December 19, 1952. He was later employed with MODOT, retiring after 34 years of service.
Bill took great pride in caring for his home and family and would often be found doing what he loved most which was working on his farm. Bill was a faithful member of the Church of the Nazarene in Iberia.
He is survived by his children, Steven Deardeuff and wife Rexanna, Karen Wracher and husband Rod, Robert Deardeuff and wife Tina, John Deardeuff and wife Susan all of Iberia, and daughter, Judy Baker and husband James of Idaho; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife, Kathleen, and his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Vernie, Ray, Ralph, and Gene Deardeuff; and two sisters, Marie and Louise.
Visitation will be held 10:00 am to 11:00 am, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with a graveside service and military honors following at 11:30 a.m., at Bethany Cemetery near Crocker, on Friday, September 24, with Bro. Bob Hamm officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Bethany Cemetery.
