Blanche Marie Brown, age 95, of Meta, departed this life to join her Lord and Savior Christ Jesus and the love of her life, Harvey E. Brown on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Care Center. She was born in Parkers Lake, Kentucky on March 14, 1919, daughter of the late Joseph and Hulda Walker. On July 18, 1937, in Tennessee, Blanche married Harvey Brown, who preceded her in death.

Blanche was a homemaker and a member of Meta Christian Church. She loved to travel and went on many trips and cruises with her sisters. She enjoyed quilting and puzzles.

She is survived by one son, Bobby Ray Brown and wife Nell of Meta; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim and wife Erma of Pennsylvania; and two sisters, Audrey of California and Sue of Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, one brother, and one grandson.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. Bro. Manuel Seaton will officiate.

Blanche will be laid to rest by her husband in Gretna Burial Park in Gretna, Virginia.
