Blanche Almetta Helton, age 70, of Iberia, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born in St. Anthony on September 8, 1935, a daughter of William M. and Naomie Rachal (Duncan) Farrow. On June 16, 1956, in Dixon, she was married to Carlos Earl Helton, who survives at the home.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.
Other survivors include: two sons, Bill Helton and wife, Sharon and Joe Helton and wife, Brenda all of Iberia; four daughters, Debbie Rowden and husband, Gary of Iberia, Cindy Hilkemeyer and husband, Rick of Freeburg, Sally Helton of Brumley, and Carol Helton of Marshall; one brother, Clay Machon of the state of Arkansas; two sisters, Leona Hogue and Louella Rowden both of Iberia; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.
Her parents; a brother, Bobby Ray Machon; and a granddaughter preceded her in death.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 26, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Monty Roark and Rev. Lloyd Mattocks will officiate. Interment will be in Stokes Cemetery near Meta.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
