Bobbie Lou Bond, age 77, of Brumley formerly of Iberia, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010, at his home. He was born in Iberia on June 11, 1933, son of the late Jesse and Bernice (Dickerson) Bond.
He served in the Korean War and worked at Brown Shoe Company in Dixon for over 30 years. Bobbie was a member of the Iberia Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, Darrell Bond; his companion, Loudean Brown; one granddaughter, Jessica Hamilton of Iberia; one grandson, Charles Bond of Jefferson City; five great grandchildren, Jordan Barnett, Joshua Hamilton, Jasmine Hamilton, Autum Bond, and Desteny Bond; and many other loved ones and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Bond; one brother, Roger Bond; and one sister, Geraldine James.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Billy Claiborn will officiate. Interment with military honors under the direction of the Iberia VFW Post 6167 and American Legion Post 105 will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia.
