Bobby "Bob" Lee Roark, age 79, of Iberia, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. He was born in St. Anthony on March 2, 1932, son of the late Rosco and Etta (Bailey) Roark. On June 22, 1956, in Lake Ozark, Bob married Betty Jeanette Hendry, who survives at the home.
Bob was a lifetime member of the DAV and the VFW. He was employed with the Miller County Highway Department as a Road Boss for 26 years until he retired in 1986.
He is also survived by two sons, Mitch Roark and wife Donna and Scott Roark and wife Shawn both of Iberia; nine grandchildren, Heather Carmack and husband Kevin, Holly Irwin and husband Brent, Wendy Rains and husband Scotty, Rodney Roark and wife Heidi, Cora Roark, Chelsie Deardeuff and husband John, Haley Roark, Zach Roark, and Maycee Roark; ten great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jimmy Roark of Mountain Grove.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Bobbie Jeanette Wilson; three sisters, Anna Maude Smith, Grace Flaugher, Lois Mae Wall; and two brothers, Finnis Roark and Archie Roark.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Jeff Higbie and Donnie Abbett will officiate. Interment with military honors under the direction of the Iberia VFW Post 6167 and American Legion Post 105 will be in Livingston Cemetery near Iberia.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 20, at the funeral home.
