Bonnie Ruth Plemmons, age 78, of Iberia, died Monday, September 11, 2006, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born in Miller on February 3, 1928, daughter of Ora and Jesse Bernice (Scott) Simpson. On November 23, 1945, in Mt. Vernon, she was married to Dorrel Lee "Duke" Plemmons, who preceded her in death on November 16, 1995.
She was a member of the Iberia American Legion Post 105 Ladies Auxiliary and Concord Christian Church. She served as a board member for the Iberia Friendship Hall.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Plemmons and wife, Vickie of Tacoma, Washington and Jeffrey Plemmons and wife, Kathy of Iberia; four daughters, Ruby Kingery and husband, Larry of Barnett, Barbara Luttrell and husband, Dewey of Brumley, Pam Luttrell and husband, Dave of Iberia, and Rita Pemberton and husband, Danny of Iberia; two sisters, Mary Lawmaster and Beverly Jo Powell; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Melvin and Bob Simpson; and one sister, Ruby Dresser.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Lee Todd will officiate. Interment will be in Robinett Cemetery near Brumley.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Concord Christian Church Building Fund.
