Bonnie Lou Rodden, age 73, of Brumley, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021, at University Hospital in Columbia. She was born in Miller County on July 13, 1947, daughter of the late Fred and Mabel (Grosvenor) Luttrell. On October 10, 1964, in Tuscumbia, Bonnie was united in marriage to Junior Rodden, who survives at their home.
Bonnie had a green thumb in gardening and enjoyed tending to her flower beds in her spare time. She was an active member of the Brumley Fireflies for many years. Bonnie, along with her husband Junior, owned and operated JR's Quick Mart in Brumley, serving the community for numerous years.
Bonnie was a devout Christian and was a faithful member of Bibleway Church, where she enjoyed playing the piano. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, who fondly called her mammaw.
In addition to her husband, Junior Rodden, she is also survived by two children, Donna Moss and husband Dallas and Robert Rodden and wife Holly both of Brumley; six grandchildren, Adam Moss (Sara), Matt Moss (Brittany), Amber Kiser (Brien), Ally Rodden, Emma Rodden, and Gracie Bonebrake; seven great-grandchildren, Isaac, Hannah, Jacob, Weston, Chesney, Scarlett, and Bellany; brother, Tob Luttrell; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Luttrell and Ted Luttrell; and two sisters, Verna Mae Davis and Mary Helen Malmberg.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, March 16, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. Walter Gilpin officiating. Interment will be held in Rodden Family Cemetery near Brumley.
