Bonnie Mae (Phillips) Turner, age 72, of Tuscumbia, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation in Tuscumbia. She was born in Brumley on January 14, 1937, daughter of Arthur L. and Lena Mae (Ash) Phillips. On July 3, 1956, in Tuscumbia, Bonnie married Jimmy Martin Turner, who preceded her in death on February 2, 2007.
Bonnie was a member of Tuscumbia Christian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Turner of Tuscumbia and Lorraine Burris of Olean; one son, Donald Turner of Tuscumbia; one granddaughter, Erin Turner of California; two step-grandchildren, John Hornback Jr. of Tuscumbia and Angela Jones of Versailles; two step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ellen Horton of Tuscumbia.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Lee Roy Phillips.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. with services immediately following at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Gene Edwards will officiate. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
