C. Carl Helton, age 84, of Catoosa, OK, formerly of Iberia, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at St. Francis Health System in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born in Miller County on October 19, 1932, son of the late George and Gladys (Hodge) Helton. On June 23, 1956, in Iberia, Carl married Wilma Dean Bailey, who survives at the home.
Carl retired from the United States Air Force as CMSGT after 28 years of honorable service. After retiring from the Air Force he spent 13 years working for Burtek in Tulsa, OK. After retiring for the second time, he farmed, hunted, fished, and played.
In addition to his loving wife, Wilma, he is also survived by his daughter, Carla Davidson and husband Wes of Strafford; three grandchildren, Lauren Helton Inman of Springfield, Brandon Davidson and wife Lisa of Marshfield, and Adam Davidson of Marshfield; five great-grandchildren, Adalynn Inman, Brady Inman, Matt Davidson, Hunter Davidson, and Austin Davidson; one sister, Gloria Mae Holcomb and husband Howard of Hermitage.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Dean Helton.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Bro. Roy Bryant will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 28, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home.
