Carl Alston Rook, age 70, of Iberia, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012, at Harry S. Truman Memorial Veteran's Hospital in Columbia. He was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on August 23, 1942, son of the late Leland and Billie (Hale) Rook. On August 21, 1964, in Mexico, Missouri, Carl married Alice Faye Greenup, who preceded him in death on October 18, 2006.
Carl was a member of Brays Advent Christian Church near Iberia.
He is survived by two sons, Donald Wyatt of Stockton and James Wyatt of Olean; two daughters, Debbie Langdon of Stockton and Eva Shields of Glasgow; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patty Hoppock and Betty Clark; and two brothers, Kenneth Rook and Bobby Rook.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Workman and one brother, Eugene Rook.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Friday, September 28, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Roy Gilkey and Rev. Julie Weems will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Hawkins Cemetery near Brumley.
