Carl R. "Slick" Sherrell of Eldon, formerly of Iberia, died Monday, April 9, 2007, at University Hospital and Clinics. He was born in Iberia on April 30, 1947, a son of the late Earl and Marge (Burch) Sherrell.

Those who survive him include: three sons, Lindsey Sherrell of Iberia, Lance Sellon of New Bern, North Carolina and Isaac Sherrell of Crocker; one daughter, Kaleah Langley of Purcell, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Burd and husband Don of Iberia and Sydney Perkins and husband Herb of Iberia and several nieces and nephews.

One son, Michael Shawn Sherrell and one brother, Earl Calvin Sherrell, also preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, with services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Glen Golden will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Brays Cemetery near Iberia.
