Carlos E. Helton, age 81, of Iberia, died Thursday, July 20, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Care Center. He was born in Maries County on July 2, 1925, a son of Benjamin and Amanda (Emory) Helton. On June 16, 1956, in Dixon, he was married to Blanche Alemetta Farrow, who preceded him in death on April 24, 2006.

He was an Army veteran of World War II. He farmed throughout his life and worked for many years in carpentry and truck driving. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Those who survive him include: two sons, Bill Helton and wife, Sharon and Joe Helton and wife, Brenda all of Iberia; five daughters, Marilyn "Susie" Dagenhart and husband, Dewey of Jefferson City, Debbie Rowden and husband, Gary of Iberia, Cindy Hilkemeyer and husband, Rick of Freeburg, Sally Helton of Brumley and Carol Helton of Marshall; one sister, Launa Rowden and husband, Wilburn of Jefferson City; 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

His parents; a daughter, Judy Malone; three brothers; three sisters; and a granddaughter also preceded him in death.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 23, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Lloyd Mattocks will officiate. Interment will be in Stokes Cemetery near Meta.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
