Carolyn Sue DeVore, age 70, of Brumley, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. She was born in Kaiser on December 7, 1948. On September 17, 1965, in Kansas City, Kansas, Carolyn married Gary Lee "Guy" DeVore, who survives at their home.
Carolyn took great pride in being a homemaker and was a wonderful mother to her three children and loving grandmother to her grandchildren. Carolyn had a sweet and caring personality and was always willing to help others in need. She was a member of Brumley Christian Church.
In addition to her loving husband, Guy DeVore, she is also survived by three children, Vonda Duncan and husband Rick of Brumley, Kevin DeVore and wife Millie of Bonner Springs, Kansas and Misty Greer and husband Steve of Bonner Springs, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Emily, Megan, Kevin, Morgan, Malarie, Kayla, Stevie, Seth, Lauren, and Jase; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Kinsley, and Remi; four sisters, Linda Salazar (Richard), Lucy Turner (Pat), Donna Van Donsel (Jeff), and Judy Almaguer; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce Hendricks and Dean (Wagoner) Davis; one brother, Jimmy Hendricks; two step-fathers, Jim Williams and Joe Bob Davis; and step-mother, Delores Hendricks.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Monday, December 31, 2018, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Ralph Byrd and Rick Russell officiating. Interment will be held in Gott Cemetery near Ulman.
