She was born on September 12, 1941, in St. Louis, a daughter of Curtis and Rosa Margaret (Schaffer) Davis. On February 1, 1986, she was united in marriage to Robert Francis McFadden at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta, he survives at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James.
Carolyn was a devoted wife and mother to her husband, Bob, and her children, Judy, Howie and Tim. Besides adoring her children, a couple of her highlights, were receiving her GED later in life and learning to drive her 1967 Cougar. Carolyn was a self-taught artist and has painted beautiful snow scene paintings and various historical structures, including the MFA building in Meta. She won an Osage County Historical Society Red Ribbon for the historical Bonnots Mill MFA building she painted. She took great joy in making painted gifts for her family's birthday and for Christmas, that included nativity scenes painted on rocks. She loved watching birds feeding at her feeder, and adored the TV show, Little House on the Prairie. Along with painting, her past-times were crocheting some of the most beautiful afghans you'll see! She loved antiquing and yard sales.
