Charles Donley "Don" Copeland of Dixon, MO was born on May 8, 1941, in Miller County, MO and was called home on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, MO. He had attained the age of 72 years, 4 months, and 29 days.
Don was united in marriage to Mary Humphrey and they lived together near Dixon. Don graduated from Dixon High School in 1961. He attended technical school for printing in Springfield, MO. He retired from Mid America Dairymen and then continued to work at AmPac Printing in Springfield, MO.
Don was an active member of Campground Christian Church in Meta, MO. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved camping, the outdoors, and eating home cooked meals.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Orville Floyd Copeland on Oct. 29, 1950 and Edith Floy (Barnhart) Copeland on Apr. 17, 2007; his son-in-law, Robert Maxwell II on March 8, 2012, of Springfield, MO and one step grandson, Dalton Maylee on March 4, 2011, of Iberia, MO.
Don is survived by his wife, Mary Copeland of the home; seven siblings: Burl Copeland and wife Wanda of Dixon, Alma Hill of Iberia, Betty Blankenship and husband Berry of Iberia, Mona Jones of Dixon, JoAnn Gallagher and husband Ray of Buena Vista, Colorado, Lemoine Lawson of Iberia and Linda Prather of Jefferson City; two children: Jennifer Maxwell and Christopher Copeland and wife Leslie of Springfield, MO; five stepchildren: Bruce Maylee and wife Sherrie of Iberia, Dale Maylee and wife Carla of Imperial, Ruthie Nelson and husband Don of Iberia, Lisa Rauba of Osage Beach, and Dana Teague and husband Dan of Virginia Beach, VA. Don is also survived by one grandson, Bobby Maxwell; eleven step grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Graveside services will be held at Little Angels cemetery near Dixon at 11:00 a.m on Saturday October 12, 2013 with Brother Manuel Seaton officiating the service.
