Charles D. Pemberton, age 72, of Iberia, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. He was born in Iberia on February 7, 1939, son of the late Emil and Edna (Farnham) Pemberton. On May 19, 1956, in Crocker, Charles married Rosalee Thornsberry, who survives at the home.

Charles was a fifth generation farmer and owned and operated a century farm in Iberia. He loved farming with his children and grandchildren. Charles logged trees from his family farm and together with his sons, grandsons, and many friends they built a rustic log cabin, where they enjoyed many family events and spending time there with his family and friends.

Charles was a member of Iberia First Baptist Church, the Iberia Masonic Lodge, and the Eastern Star.

He is also survived by two sons, David Pemberton and wife Theresa and Danny Pemberton and wife Rita both of Iberia; one daughter, D'Ann Riemensnider and husband Bill of Iberia; six grandchildren, Christie Bauer and husband Patrick, Daniel Pemberton and wife Jennifer, Justin Riemensnider and wife Crystal, Luke Riemensnider, Jason Pemberton and wife Kaci, and Jaron Pemberton and wife Danielle; five great-grandchildren, Acelyn Bauer, Chesni Pemberton, Drace Pemberton, Noah Riemensnider, and Ross Pemberton; three brothers, Kenneth Pemberton and wife Pat of Springfield, Robert Pemberton and wife Shirley of Blackburn, and Ronald Pemberton and wife Janet of Eldon; and one sister, Alice Steen and husband Sherril of Weatherford, Texas.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2012, at Iberia First Baptist Church. Bro Charles LaChance and Bro. Lee Todd will officiate. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the Cardiac ICU at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
