Obituary

Charles Len Peterson, Sr., age 66, of Crocker, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach.  He was born in Waynesville on September 8, 1955, son of the late William and Hazel (Bivens) Peterson.  On January 2, 1981, in Swedeborg, Charlie was united in marriage to Reygena L. "Rey" Robinson, who preceded him in death on July 2, 2017.

Charlie enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening, and riding horses.  His favorite pastime was watching westerns in his shop sitting by the warmth of his wood stove.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy.  Charlie was lovingly referred to as "Pa Chuck" to his grandchildren and many others who adored him.

He had a passion for vehicles and was owner and operator of Crocker Auto Body for many years and was later employed with the City of Crocker.  Charlie attended Crocker Christian Church.

He is survived by one son, C.J. Peterson and wife Kalinda; daughter LaTina Jefferies and husband Chris; five grandchildren, Levi Jefferies, Abby Jefferies, Kaylea Peterson, Jayden Peterson, and ReyLynn Peterson; two sisters, Phyllis Henson and Billie Duncan; brother, Earl (Gayle) Bivens and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Pete Peterson, Rita Shoemaker, Joyce Robinson, and Gail Ogle.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, at Crocker Christian Church with Larry Richardson and Doug Jacobson officiating.  Interment will be held at Bethlehem Cemetery in Swedeborg under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.  Pallbearers for Charlie are Danny Roam, Trent York, Doug Sloan, Jeffrey Danielson, Aaron Newton, Levi Jefferies, and Eric Schwandt and honorary pallbearers are C.J. Peterson, Chris Jefferies, Tyler Barnes and Earl Bivens Jr.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, at Crocker Christian Church.
