Charles Richard Steinhauser, age 95, of Osage Beach, died Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at California Care Center. He was born in St. Louis on January 30, 1912, son of Charles and Sara Louise (Powell) Steinhauser. On November 23, 1934, in Osage Beach, he was married to Mae Henson, who preceded him in death on August 9, 1984.
He owned Powell's Supreme View Resort in Osage Beach for many years. He served in the National Guard as a young man. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Johnathan Steinhauser of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and James Paul Steinhauser of Otterville; three daughters, Betty Dunn of Eldon, Janet Whittle of Eldon, and Shawnee Wood of Tuscumbia; one half sister, Mary Ann Schaffer of Kirksville; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Beverly Richardson, and one half brother, Kenneth Steinhauser.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon. Dr. Gene Hodges will officiate.
Private graveside services will be at Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery in Camdenton.
