Charlton S. Bryant, age 84, of Iberia, died Monday, February 12, 2007, at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital. He was born in Powdersville, South Carolina on November 11, 1922, a son of the late Jim and Moneta (Johns) Bryant. On October 13, 1952, in Springdale, Arkansas, he was married to Ruby Dale Adkins, who preceded him in death on April 7, 1994.
Charlton served in the US Army during World War II. He drove Sherman tanks in Germany and help set up communications in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
Those who survive him include: One sister, Willie A. Bryant of Greenville, South Carolina.
One daughter, Mona Bryant, also preceded him in death.
Graveside services with full military honors will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, at Union Cemetery near Iberia. Rev. Roy L. Gilkey will officiate.
