Chase Colton Blankenship, age 23, of Iberia, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He was born in Lake Ozark on November 30, 1994, son of Steve and Tammy Mishell (Null) Blankenship.

Chase is a 2014 graduate of Tuscumbia High School. After high school he attended the Missouri Welding Institute in Nevada, Missouri. He was a skilled welder and spent several years traveling surrounding states undertaking various welding jobs. He was recently employed at Diamond Dog Food in Meta. He enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing with his friends.

Chase was a friend to so many and those that are blessed to call him friend will remember his happy-go-lucky spirit and his carefree smile that would light up a room. His family will treasure the memories of a boy who had a heart of gold and lived every day to the fullest.

Chase was a born again Christian and attended Santee Community Church in Dixon.

He is survived by his parents, Steve and Tammy Blankenship of Iberia; two sisters, Madison Bell and husband Cody of Eldon and Amy Bridgeton of Lake Ozark; one brother, Christopher Blankenship of Arkansas; paternal grandparents, Frank and Regina Blankenship; maternal grandparents, Howard and Wanda Clark; girlfriend, Audrey Eckert of Dixon; and several nieces, aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his uncle, Mike Blankenship.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Friday, March 30, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Dennis Wright will officiate. Interment will be held in Hickory Point Cemetery near Iberia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Chase Blankenship Memorial Fund.
