Chloe Marie Woody, age 82, of Meta, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021, at her home. She was born in Modesto, California, on June 29, 1938, daughter of the late Rev. Earl Jones and Grace (Teeple) Jones. On October 27, 1956, in Meta, Chloe was united in marriage to Meryl Woody, who preceded her in death on September 5, 1991.
Chloe was a 1956 graduate of Dixon High School. Following graduation, Chloe and Meryl started a family and she had a rewarding career as a homemaker. Chloe served as an election judge for Maries County and volunteered at the Vienna library for many years. She was instrumental in helping her husband, Meryl, with the day-to-day operations on their farm. Her favorite pastimes included tending to her flowers, feeding the bird, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Chloe was a woman of faith who was a long-time member of Campground Christian Church in Van Cleve, where she was song leader since the age of 17.
She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Woody (Deana) of Dixon and Chuck Woody (Christina) of Loose Creek; four grandchildren, Benjamin Woody (Jessica), Rebekah Weidinger (Justin), Kailey Woody and Kinzey Woody; great-grandchildren, Jennings Woody and Kloee and future brother Weidinger; two sisters, Joyce Fers (John) and Carolyn Bassett (Arthur); and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Jack Woody.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, January 27, at Campground Christian Church in Van Cleve with Manuel Seaton and Danny Bassett officiating. Interment will be held in Pendleton Cemetery near Meta.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Pendleton Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.
