Clarence Raymond Ray, age 86, of Iberia, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at his home. He was known to his family and friends as Raymond. He was born on April 9, 1939, son of the late Clarence and Emma (Robertson) Ray. On October 28, 1961, in Dixon, Raymond was united in marriage to Verla Edith Helton, who preceded him on May 6, 2021.
Raymond had a passion for gardening and appreciated spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan. He cherished his family, especially his grandchildren and his canine companion, Brownie. Raymond was a member of Seaton Faith Fellowship in Dixon.
He is survived by two children, Steve (Frances) Ray and Angel (Dusty) Mason; four grandchildren, William Ray, Dakota Mason, Adam Ray, and Gracie Mason; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Kymber, Kamdyn, Blakely, Clara, and Beckett; brother, Wayne Ray; sisters-in-law, Becky Ray, Betty Helton, and Virginia Ray; and a host of family and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Verla, he was also preceded in death by his siblings Frank Ray, Ernest Ray, Roland Ray, Donald Ray, Stella Roberts, and Katherine Hance.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with services immediately following at 11 a.m., on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Helen Winters officiating. Interment will be held at Alder Springs Cemetery near Iberia.
