Claudine F. Champlain, age 90, of Meta, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022, at Oak Tree Villa in Jefferson City.  She was born in Meta on March 15, 1932, daughter of the late Claude Clay and Mina May (Ricker) Scott.  On June 10, 1950, in Vienna, Claudine was united in marriage to John Champlain, who preceded her in death on October 10, 1992.

Claudine had a career as a teller at the bank in Meta for over 40 years.  Her witty personality allowed her to connect easily with others in the community.  Claudine loved spending time with her family and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals.  She attended Campground Christian Church and Ricker Memorial Nazarene Church near Meta.

She is survived by her daughter Peggy Eads and husband Dennis of Holts Summit; two grandchildren, Lindsey (Ryan) Holliday and Scott (Julie) Eads; two great-grandchildren, Haylen Holliday and Paxton Holliday; sister-in-law, Billie Jean Ryle; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Oscar Clay Scott and wife Elfie Lorene, sister, Lois Mae Scott, and nephew, Gary Scott.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 22, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta with Manuel Seaton officiating.  Interment will be held in Southside Cemetery in Meta.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.
