Clifford A. Brumley, age 89, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at his home. He was born in Iberia on June 11, 1923, son of the late Lorenzo Jackson and Alice (McDowell) Brumley. On August 16, 1941, in St. Charles, Clifford married Ruby Faye Winters, who preceded him in death on April 7, 1995.
Clifford served in the Army Air Corps during World War II from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1945. During his time in service he was stationed in Galena, Alaska. After his discharge, he worked in timber and as a carpenter in the Winona and Springfield area until 1951 when he and his family moved to Tuscumbia where he worked as a turkey grower for the next fifty years.
He was a long-time member of Mt. Zion Christian Church near Tuscumbia where he enjoyed the fellowship of friends and neighbors. He was also a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Most of all, he loved and enjoyed his family.
He is survived by one daughter, Barbara Moser and husband Bob of Hannibal; one son, Richard Brumley and wife Charlotte of Tuscumbia; five grandchildren, Jennifer Eddy and husband Kent, Michael Moser and wife Amy, Keith Moser and wife Liz, Elizabeth Roberts and husband Nick, and Adam Brumley and wife Megan; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Charles Worstell will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Tuscumbia.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 11, at the funeral home.
