Cornelius A. Lock, age 81, of Koeltztown, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City. He was born in Rich Fountain on May 24, 1929, son of the late William and Elizabeth (Bax) Lock. On November 4, 1950, in Argyle, he was united in marriage to Bernita Elizabeth Redel, who preceded him in death on August 12, 2000.
He worked for MODOT for many years until his retirement in 1984. Cornelius was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Koeltztown.
He is survived by three children, Randy Lock and wife Rhonda of Ashland, Rebecca Howard and husband Nelson of Russellville, and Pamela Zika and husband Mike of Koeltztown; two sisters, Viola Jaegers of Bloomsdale and Olivia Webb of Vienna; five grandchildren, Jamie Eiken and husband Chris, Adam Howard and wife Ginger, Bradley Howard and wife Stephanie, Jennifer Flores, and Shawn Lock; six great-grandchildren; and many relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Herbert Lock and one granddaughter, Rachel Howard.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2011, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Koeltztown. Msgr. Marion Makarewicz will officiate. Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery in Koeltztown.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Sunday, March 20, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
