Curtis A. Hoecker, age 52, of St. Elizabeth, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at his home. He was born in Jefferson City on July 16, 1962, son of Alfred and Lorraine (Bax) Hoecker.
Curt was an avid outdoorsman who spent many years deer hunting and in recent years enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren fishing on the family farm.
Curt started his employment as a brick laborer and later worked for U. S. Rents-It where he was known as "Curt The-Can-Do-Man". Curt worked the majority of his life at Langenberg Hat Factory in St. Elizabeth which later became Ozark Hat Company.
He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth.
He is survived by his parents, Alfred and Lorraine Hoecker of St. Elizabeth; one daughter, Jessica Hoecker of Sedalia; two brothers, Bryan Hoecker and Bruce Hoecker and wife Tammi both of Jefferson City; one sister, Brenda Skidmore and husband Doug of Freeburg; three grandchildren, Zachariah Hoecker, Camden Hoecker, and Brooklyn Hoecker all of Sedalia; six nieces, one nephew, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Melissa Hoecker; paternal grandparents, Herbert and Catherine Hoecker and maternal grandparents, Louis and Gertrude Bax.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth. Rev. Joby P. Thomas will officiate. Interment will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in St. Elizabeth.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, July 14, at the church.
