Obituary

Cynthia (Cindy) Helene Miodunski, age 71, passed away in Houston, TX on Monday, December 2, 2024. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on July 27, 1953, as the daughter of the late Michael Richard and Elizabeth Mae (Kirkwood) Miodunski. Cynthia graduated from Eureka High School in 1971 and took classes at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. She called San Antonio, Texas home for many years.

As the first girl born into the Miodunski family in more than 100 years, Cynthia was exceptional from day one. In life, she was an avid gardener who was particularly fond of roses, a passionate fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Antonio Spurs, and an exceptional gift giver. Early in life, Cynthia loved to play baseball, go on road trips in her yellow Volkswagen Beetle, and hike desert trails near Tucson, Arizona. Cynthia loved caring for her dogs and always kept her bird feeder filled. She was known for her kind heart, endearing sense of humor, and deep faith and trust in the Lord. Cynthia battled fiercely against Multiple Sclerosis for more than 40 years. No matter how much she struggled, she never lost her vibrant spirit or optimism.

Cynthia is survived by three sons: James Nathaniel Waterson of Houston, Texas; Daniel Clayton Waterson of Houston, Texas; and David McKinley Waterson III of Advance, North Carolina; two brothers: Michael William Miodunski of Barnhart, Missouri and Robert Lee Miodunski of Las Vegas, Nevada; and five grandchildren: Shea Waterson of Houston, Texas, Coen Waterson and Clara Waterson of Houston, Texas, and Eleanor Waterson and McKinley Waterson of Advance, North Carolina.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Kenneth Miodunski.
