Daniel "Danny" Wankum, age 50, of Meta, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at his home. He was born in Jefferson City, on November 23, 1968, son of the late Charles John and Helen Marie (Schroeder) Wankum. On May 14, 1994, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth, Danny married Jennifer "Jenny" Plassmeyer, who survives at their home.

Danny was employed at Quaker Windows for the past six years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Danny was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta.

In addition to his wife, Jenny, he is also survived by one son, Nicholas "Nick" Wankum; two daughters, Shelby Wankum and Madison Wankum all of the home; two sisters, Mary Kay Frazier (Mike) of Meta and Carol Verhoff (Tony) of Westphalia; two brothers, Allen Wankum (Lois) and Jerome "Jerry" Wankum (Jacqueline) both of Meta; sister-in-law, Denise Wankum; mother-in-law, Florence Plassmeyer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jim Plassmeyer (Teresa), LeAnn Meyer (Mark), Joe Plassmeyer (Kim), Mike Otto (Pam), Cathy Reinkemeyer (Mark), and Steve Otto (Tammie); and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Barbara Scheulen and husband Robert; brother, Charles "Chuck" Wankum; infant brother, Ricky Wankum; and father-in-law, Albert Plassmeyer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta with Fr. Jeremy Secrist officiating.   Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 4 p.m., on Wednesday, January 30, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta.
